I was thinking Huygens was closest but I am thinking of the implications of a helical wave to be more precise. This way it is a particle traveling like a wave. The particle orbits around its own moment as it moves through magnetic fields.

I wrote an article about this very recently. No worries if you don't have time but the graphics I made are simple and should get what I am trying across with a glance.
